Surrender positions me better for success than self effort

Everyone has a natural desire to live a life with purpose, but the road to finding and living that purpose can be daunting, confusing, and sometimes even discouraging.In my journey of searching for this life I was once told that the key to living a purpose-filled life is to focus on myself, but I've since learned that this advice is not in line with my walk in the Kingdom of God.


To live a purpose-filled life in the Kingdom of God, I need to fully trust and rely on the Creator, and not rely on my own understanding because on my own, I'm unable to discern the spiritual realm where the truth about my life purpose resides. Therefore, focusing on myself will only take me further away from my purpose.


When I fully surrender to the authority of the Creator, I simultaneously position myself against the kingdoms that are hostile to the will of the Creator. This posture will lead to the revelation of the Creator's purpose for my life. Full surrender is essential because it's a posture that enables me to respond to the will and guidance of the Creator, and positions me for success in fulfilling my purpose.


Instead of focusing on my self effort to find my purpose, I've fully surrendered my desires so that I can be empowered with the desires that are pleasing to the Creator positioning me well Ito fulfill his purpose for my life.

I am a SHEEP who needs a SHEPHERD

When I got frustrated by the failure of my denominational church teachings to provide me with real life solutions to real life problems, I aligned myself with a New Age slogan “Hail to thyself for I am my own master, I am my own God I need no shepherd for I am not a sheep ”. The slogan appealed to me because there was no obvious link between what I was being taught at my denominational church and my daily life experience.This led me to conclude that the God I am searching for on the outside must reside within me, meaning I am my own god. The irrelevant is key to the promise.

Life lesson : What is deemed irrelevant has enabled me to comprehensively understand  the promised framework to live a meaningful life on earth. When I first embarked on a personal journey of reading the Bible on my own, I encountered challenges in understanding the Old Testament. I was almost tempted away from this journey by a popular belief that the Old Testament is no longer relevant, but I resisted the temptation despite my initial struggles with comprehension.
