It is the season for true transformation

Image
Life lesson: true transformation involves considering both the natural and spiritual realms. In this Easter holiday, I find myself drawn to a deeper reflection on its significance and its profound impact on my life. Over the years, this festive occasion has symbolized a time for relaxation and spending quality time with loved ones. However, this year, my introspection has led me to contemplate the tension between my personal process of transformation and the process orchestrated by God(of the Bible) Reflecting on my journey, I have come to realize that the path chosen by God for my transformation is not one I would have willingly selected.I have experienced a sequence of events that have progressively deteriorated from bad to worse ever since adopting the Kingdom of God as my guiding principle. These painful circumstances, which accompany my ardent pursuit of righteousness, are integral to God's transformative process. As the apostle Paul reminds me in 2 Timothy 3:12 (AMP), "I

The unseen is my source of true identity

Life lesson: Limiting my perspective to the seen realm, without taking into account the unseen realm, hinders a thorough comprehension of my true identity. Throughout my life, I have embraced my African identity as a core aspect of my self-understanding. This grounding in my African heritage aligns with the principles of African Spirituality, which affirm the significance of one's cultural roots. However, as I delve deeper into my spiritual journey, I have come to recognize a potential contradiction between this African identity and the principles of the Kingdom of God, which I have chosen to guide my life. The Kingdom of God, transcends the seen realm and encompasses the spiritual domain through which God fulfills his promises on earth. Anchoring my identity solely in the seen realm, represented by my African identity, may not lead to a comprehensive understanding of my true identity within the Kingdom of God. Embracing my identity in the Kingdom of God has ignited a genuine desir

The irrelevant is key to the promise.

Life lesson : What is deemed irrelevant has enabled me to comprehensively understand  the promised framework to live a meaningful life on earth. When I first embarked on a personal journey of reading the Bible on my own, I encountered challenges in understanding the Old Testament. I was almost tempted away from this journey by a popular belief that the Old Testament is no longer relevant, but I resisted the temptation despite my initial struggles with comprehension. This resistance enabled me to appreciate that the Old Testament forms a crucial part of God's promised framework for living on earth, which is fully revealed in the New Testament as the Kingdom of God  The Old Testament provides essential details about this revealed framework that is supposed to guide my life on earth as a child of God through religious rituals that point to God's promises and appropriate responses that positions me to inherit all that God has promised. These rituals offer insight into the activitie

The anointing cannot be bought

Image
While watching a telenovela recently, I noticed a scene where a character used anointed oil to pray for her troubled son. This incident reminded me of the common practice in many churches of selling anointed oils, holy water, and other products. It made me wonder if purchasing these items is all that is required to receive God's blessings, favor, and protection, why isn't everyone using them and why I wasn't participating in this practice?  My question stems from the impression created by those selling the anointed products which is that human beings are the source of the anointing and it can be purchased for personal benefit. However, the truth is that God is the source of anointing, and it is intended to manifest His glory rather than solely benefit individuals. The anointing is evidence of God's presence on Earth, it is activated to silence the voices of God’s enemies to amplify His voice. This process enables God to heal spiritual blindness and reveal the powerlessn

Adversity is the source of true knowledge

Image
The Christian God is insecure this was the response of an expert in African Spirituality when asked why she left Christianity. She elaborated and said Africans who follow God of the Bible are denied the knowledge of their true identities because their God is so insecure that He commands them not to follow the god who is of their ancestors because he does not want to be shown to be insufficient by the god of the African ancestors.  I was initially offended by her remarks but truth be told at some point in my life I also believed this about God, I would not have used the strong language that she used but I was at some point aligned with this thinking especially when I did not get satisfactory answers from my denominational church on why are we not allowed to practice African Spirituality simultaneously with our Christian faith. While attempting to comprehend my current situation, characterized by a perpetual sense of adversity, I have come to recognize a significant disparity between th

The unseen propels innovation and logic

Image
A meme about a Chinese man and an American man using logic to find a way to cross between 2 hills and an African kneeling down to pray instead and he still fails to find a way,  paints a picture that seems to suggest that the continent of Africa is not developing at the same rate as the other continents because Africans seem to rely more on prayer instead of innovative thinking and logic.  Prior to commencing my spiritual journey, I would have concurred with this notion. However, my faith exploration has revealed numerous flaws in this portrayal. Reliance on prayer is a belief only prevalent in Africa The meme mistakenly suggests that relying on prayer is exclusively an African phenomenon. Contrary to this misconception, it is a global recognition of a higher power influencing the tangible realm. In Western nations, this recognition is evident in the growing popularity of New Age beliefs, which often draw inspiration from Eastern religious traditions. In some instances, New Age beliefs
