LIFE LESSON: True love does not compromise, it seeks to influence towards the truth In matters of social issues, my stance has always been that compromising my values to accommodate diverse viewpoints is a testament of true love. Popular culture endorses this view, but it misaligns with the principles of the Kingdom of God. Within the Kingdom of God, patience and kindness towards individuals holding opposing views on social issues are encouraged as expressions of love (1 Corinthians 13:4; Luke 6:35) . However, demonstrating love also involves upholding the truth found in the Bible, rather than partaking in actions that undermine my moral standing before God (1 Corinthians 13:6) . Therefore, my approach in demonstrating true love to individuals with differing social views will be to consistently exhibit patience and kindness.
