The unseen is my source of true identity

Life lesson: Limiting my perspective to the seen realm, without taking into account the unseen realm, hinders a thorough comprehension of my true identity.


Throughout my life, I have embraced my African identity as a core aspect of my self-understanding. This grounding in my African heritage aligns with the principles of African Spirituality, which affirm the significance of one's cultural roots. However, as I delve deeper into my spiritual journey, I have come to recognize a potential contradiction between this African identity and the principles of the Kingdom of God, which I have chosen to guide my life.

The Kingdom of God, transcends the seen realm and encompasses the spiritual domain through which God fulfills his promises on earth. Anchoring my identity solely in the seen realm, represented by my African identity, may not lead to a comprehensive understanding of my true identity within the Kingdom of God.

Embracing my identity in the Kingdom of God has ignited a genuine desire within me to please God and obey his commandments. This newfound alignment has transformed my behavior, steering me away from actions that contradict God's purpose for my life. Through this process, I have gained a deeper understanding of my true identity, which extends beyond the confines of my earthly existence.

Recognizing my true identity in the Kingdom of God has set me on a path toward fulfilling my true destiny and receiving God's provision. This provision extends not only to me but also to my family and those around me. Embracing God's provision secures my guaranteed inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven, positioning me as a descendant of God entitled to all of His promises.

While I still value my African heritage, I now hold it loosely in comparison to my identity in the unseen realm. This shift in perspective acknowledges that my true identity is not limited to my earthly existence but is rooted in the spiritual realm, where it serves as a source of guidance and fulfillment, not only for myself but for the benefit of others as well.

Personal desire can be an obstacle to my destiny.

LIFE LESSON: Prayer is not a means to satisfy my personal desires; rather, it is to align with divine providence. In a recent discussion with a friend who attends a denominational church, he expressed that God fulfills all his prayers. Upon further exploration, it became apparent that he perceived God as a granter of his desires. This perspective contrasts with my experience in the Kingdom of God, where my prayers are also answered, but the responses are YES, NO or NOT NOW.. My prayers are not always met with a "YES." The Creator comprehends that my human desires alone, without his divine guidance, will never lead me to true fulfillment (Proverbs 27:20) . God prioritizes intimacy with me but some of my desires, unbeknownst to me, could hinder that intimate relationship (Luke 17:22) . TESTIMONY : Dont pray hard, pray consistently

Recently while searching for accommodation I went through 3 deals which all fell through at the last minute. After the 3rd deal fell through a friend asked me whether I have been praying and I said yes, and she advised me to pray harder. Pray hard is a phrase we commonly use, I have used this phrase or thought of it because of the belief that the harder I pray the more likely that God will fulfill my expectations. This belief is based on the assumption that God exists to fulfill my plans but in truth I exist to fulfill God’s plan on the earth. A plan that is meant to impact the lives of others and benefit me.
