LIFE LESSON: I do not have control of my destiny

WHAT THE WORLD TAUGHT ME 

Your destiny is in your hands is a saying I have heard a lot  which means as human beings we are in control of our destiny we can become the person we want to be. We must therefore take control of our destiny.

WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES ME

According to the Bible the eternal destiny of believers is eternal unity with  God  and in contrast the eternal destiny for non-believers is permanent separation from God.

So as human beings our control as far as eternal destiny is only limited to either a choice that we make while on earth to either accept God’s invitation to be united with him or decline the invitation.

As a child of God  the Bible teaches me that even in this life while I am on earth my destiny and its timing is in the hands of God (Psalms 16:5 TPT). Which then means for me to know my destiny I have to make it my business to know God so I can know what is my destiny. . 

CONCLUSION

Therefore my destiny is not in my hands and I can't control it either, the only thing in my hands is the choice to accept or decline God’s invitation to unite with him while I am on the earth.

LIFE LESSON: Submit your life to HIS plans

WHAT RELIGION TAUGHT ME I was taught that if I want my plans to succeed I should give them to the Lord. This means I should initiate my plans in my own strength and then give them to the Lord for his blessings. WHAT THE BIBLE TAUGHT ME. From experience making my own plans then seeking him afterwards has not worked for me. The story of the Bible is: God has a plan for this world and he wants to use his children to fulfill that plan. What this means to me is I have to fit into his plans and not the other way around. Jeremiah 29:11 Reads for I know the plans I have for you plans to prosper you and not to harm you . So  if he knows the plans he has for me, what am I doing making my own plans outside of him?  I believe  what the Bible is teaching me with this scripture is to first seek his plans for my life. Jeremiah 5:11 tells us God knew and set us apart for good works before were we were even born, so it makes sense for me to seek my plans through the creator who has already made plans f

Knowledge trumps sensuality

I used to say "I'm not religious, I'm spiritual" to explain why I left my denominational church religous teachings. I thought I was my own god and could access the spiritual realm on my own. But the truth is, the spiritual realm is invisible and can't be perceived with human senses. My human senses are spiritually blind, therefore believing I'm my own god is the blind leading the blind. When I rely on my human senses to perceive the spiritual realm, I won't get to true knowledge of truth. Instead I open myself up to being influenced spiritual domains that want to deceive me. They offer me the good life on earth, but they lead me astray in the spiritual realm. I unknowingly fulfill their agendas, which they don't make known upfront.
